Hope everyone has had and will have a great holiday, and that everyone stays safe.
In other news: Go see Sweeny Todd. If you like the musical, you'll like the flick. Depp was great and his voice was surprising. The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that the really cool chorus songs are not in the movie.
Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, but I hate not having more money to give enough. I always feel as if I don't give enough to everyone. I'm sure they don't really care because it's the thought that counts and I put a lot into my gifts, but I just wish I could do more for the people that do so much for me. Sometimes I feel like maybe I could do more or give more, but I just don't have the funds.
I hope that by this time next year I have gotten a promotion, a good raise, hit it big or something. I don't want to keep this same old song in my choirbook. I know I am better off than some people and should be happy with what I have but if what I have doesn't make me happy then I just need to work for more. I think I deserve it, and I think the people around me deserve better than what I can give them.
After a day from hell I went and got myself a BBPearl as I said earlier. This thing is the most awesome piece of technology that I have ever owned. As a matter of fact, this entry was written on it.
I'll talk more later now it's cocoa and Christmas lights time.
I haven't posted in a few but I've been relatively busy.
I do have to tell you that yesterday was the day from hell. It started with the jerk at the junkyard, that was far from helpfull and didn't have one of the parts I needed, and wanted to overcharge me for the other. Then I lost my phone. The rest of the day just sucked all together. The only good that came out of it was that I got to hang out with my family and I got the phone I've been wanting. I picked up the BlackBerry Pearl. It's a sweet little machine, I'll tell you what!
We went and saw Fred Claus yesterday, which was freaking awesome. I do have to say it is tied with Elf as the best Christmas movie ever. I don't even know what to say except if you even remotely like Vince Vaughn then you will love this flick. Go see it, don't wait, go see it now!
So I think I'm gonna hunt down this Murphy guy and hit him in his teeth for that damn law of his. It seems to be the rule that my life abides by.
So I was having a problem with my headlights not turning on, it wasn't the bulbs, it wasn't a fuse, so it had to be the switch. Ok. I go and buy the switch and Vanessa's Step dad Don helped me get to the point where you just swap it out, and apparently the reason it went out is because the wire harness melted. YEAH! We try and find this harness thing at a parts store but were unsuccessful in doing so. So now it's time for the "Guess Which Wire Goes Where Game!" WOOT! WOOT! Needless to say it was freezing and a giant pain, but we finally got it and the hot glued the wires in place.
If it hadn't been for Don then I probably would been in the dashboard for alot longer, and lost a few fingers from frostbite.
So I am attempting to read all of the 100 books on the Modern Library's "100 Best Novels" published in the English language since 1900. I am starting with the top 25 and then working my way down. I have never read most of the books and haven't heard of quite a few of them. I think this is one of my worthy goals to try, seeing as most of my past goals have been less enriching. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller is my first book that I picked off the list. I origionaly was going to start at #1 and work my way down but when I walked into Barnes & Noble I saw a poster for Catch-22 and figured it was a sign.

A doctor has created the
"fast food diet" a six week program in which you actually lose weight while eating nothing but fast food. Even though this may be a viable option, I have decided to take on a goal of no fast food for 30 days. I am considering everything a fast food restaurant that takes less than 10 minutes to serve me, but not ruling out everything. Subway will still be on my list of OK but something like a burger from a restaurant is still not OK.
Wish me luck.
I had a pretty cool time at Great Cats yesterday and all we did was dig and break cinder blocks. But by doing that we helped create a better drainage system for when it rains, so that less flooding on the grounds will occur. I also spent a brief time with the animals which was pretty awesome.
I added a link to the Great Cats site and also a donation link to help out. If you live nearby you should definitely go, maybe even volunteer. If those options are not in your future than I would hope you do donate, because every dollar helps provide food, shelter and care for these amazing creatures.
I am a huge Chicago Bears fan. My moods change with the course of the season and this last loss has broken my spirits. We start the game with what looked like the best we have played all season and then like Keyser Soze *poof* it was all gone. I'm sorry if you don't like football but I can't express what I'm feeling right now, it's like an animal is inside me and wants out. I'm a little dramatic I know.
On a good note, I am heading over to Indiana to spend some time with the kitties over at Great Cats. One of my best friends volunteers there and I'd like to go and help out. It's an awesome place, they take care of lions, tigers, bears and other exotic animals that have been displaced due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or legal matters. http://www.greatcatsofindiana.org/
